Hydro Dipping Service in the UK
AquaGraphix offers a professional hydro dipping service from our workshop in Aberbargoed, South Wales. Also known as hydrographics or water transfer printing, it transfers a printed pattern onto 2D and 3D objects. We can process anything from a single one-off part to large production runs.
What can be hydro dipped?
We can process any object that can be painted and won’t be harmed by being immersed in water, including items made of wood, metal, plastic or stone. If it fits in our 3m x 1.2m tank, it can be processed. Common jobs include:
- Car parts, including engine covers, grilles, mirror covers and interior trim
- Wheels for cars and bikes
- Motorcycle tanks and mudguards
- Helmets and quad bike panels
- Rifles, scopes and outdoor equipment
- Furniture and Xbox controllers
Patterns and finishes
Items can be made to look like carbon fibre, wood, metal, marble, camouflage and much more. Browse our hydrographics film range for ideas, or see finished work in our showroom.
How much does hydro dipping cost?
Here are some example guide prices, all plus VAT:
- Badges: from £40
- Engine covers: from £100
- Car body panels: from £200
- Motorcycle tanks: from £300
- Car wheels: from £400 per set of 4
Prices depend on size, shape and condition. See our full hydrographics price guide. You’ll be given an exact price before any work is carried out.
How the hydro dipping process works
We clean and prep your part, prime it, rub it smooth and apply the basecoat. Then we hydrate the film on warm water, activate it and dip the part through the ink. Finally, we rinse and dry the part ready for its clear coat. Read the full steps on The Process.
Business and production runs
We’re set up for production runs, and can sometimes build jigs to dip multiple items at once, saving time and money. See our commercial painting and hydrographics service and business customer page.
